A heads-up match against a former conference foe this week jumpstarts Liberty's 2021 spring men's golf schedule that features eight regular season events.

Following a 242-day layoff since its last competition, Liberty returns to the golf course on Friday, January 15 when they face former Big South foe Charleston Southern. The one-day, heads-up match will be contested at Oak Point Golf Course in Charleston, S.C.

The Flames play their first full tournament of the spring season on Jan. 25 and 26 when they travel to Jacksonville, Fla., for the Timuquana Collegiate. The two-day, 54-hole event is hosted by ASUN foe North Florida at the Timuquana Country Club.

The months of February and March see the Flames return to five-consecutive events that have been staples for Liberty over the last several years.

Liberty has three events in the "Sunshine State" in February: the Sea Best Invitational (Feb. 1-2; TPC Sawgrass – Dye's Valley Course, Jacksonville), VyStar Invitational (Feb. 12-14; Mark Bostick Golf Course – Gainesville) and the Seminole Intercollegiate (Feb. 19-21; Seminole Legacy Golf Club – Tallahassee).

The Flames start the month of March with a return trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., for the General Hackler Championship, March 14-16. The 54-hole event, hosted at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club, was Liberty's final event during the 2019-20 season before the COVID-19 shutdown.

Liberty returns to the Jacksonville, Fla., area to close out the month of March when they participate in UNF's The Hayt event on March 28 and 29 at the Sawgrass Country Club.

For the first time since 2015, Liberty welcomes golfers to the Central Virginia when the Flames host a home event. The Flames will host the Liberty Invitational at Poplar Grove Golf Club in Amherst, Va., on April 12 and 13.

Liberty's eight-event regular season schedule will look to prepare the Flames for the ASUN Men's Golf Championship. The three-day event is scheduled for April 18-20 at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Ga.

Liberty, who has qualified for NCAA Regional play eight of the last nine seasons, will look to make a return to postseason play when the NCAA Regionals are hosted May 17-19 at six select sites around the country.

The half-dozen Regional events will determine the 30-team field that will challenge for a national title at the 2021 NCAA Men's Golf National Championship, May 28 to June 2, at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
