Liberty Adds Tennessee Transfer Bridie Herman

Liberty women's soccer and head coach Lang Wedemeyer have signed a 10th player to its latest signing class, adding Tennessee transfer Bridie Herman. Due to the transfer rules, Herman will arrive to Liberty as a sophomore and will not be eligible to the Fall 2021 season.

"We are elated to have Bridie joining our program," Wedemeyer said. "She is a hard-nosed defender who will make dangerous runs into the attack and can play just as effectively on either side of the back line."

In her two seasons as a Lady Volunteer, Herman played in seven games including one start. Herman was a 2019-20 First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll honoree. Prior to Tennessee, Herman attended Springboro high school in Springboro, Ohio where she was a two-time All-GWOC performer and a two-time First Team All-Conference honoree during her junior and senior seasons. Recognized as one of the best players in the state of Ohio, Herman was named to the U-16 Best XI at the 2017 ECNL Playoffs as part of Ohio Elite.

This is the second transfer that Liberty has added from Tennessee, as the Lady Flames signed McKinley Burkett earlier this year.
