Lady Flames in 3rd Place After TYR '85 Invite Opening Day

A pair of individual-event victories highlighted Liberty's opening day of the 2020 TYR '85 Invite, Friday at the Liberty Natatorium.

The Lady Flames scored 619 points this evening. Campbell leads with 773 points, followed closely in second by UNC Asheville (752).

Notable
• Eva Suggs, the 2020 CCSA Most Outstanding Female Newcomer, led from start to finish in the A Final tonight, winning by 4.18 seconds over second-place Kylie Johnson of UNC Asheville (5:02.44 to 5:06.62). 
• Freshman Chloe Harris became the first Liberty swimmer to win the 200 IM in meet history, claiming first place in 2:06.56.   
• Suggs' 5:02.44 for 500 free, Harris' 2:06.56 for 200 IM and Keiner's 50 free (23.72) were all the fastest by a Lady Flame in their respective events this season.
• Liberty posted also posted season-best times in the 200 free relay (1:35.99) and 400 medley relay (3:48.82).
• Liberty received a lifetime-best swim from Raea Farquharson in the 50 freestyle (24.39 in prelims).
• Campbell is has now appeared at all three Liberty-hosted invitationals, while UNC Asheville is making its debut at the TYR '85 Invite.
• This week's invitational gives teams a preview of a prelims-finals program that will be used at the 2021 CCSA Swimming & Diving Championships.
