The Liberty Lady Flames women's tennis team received the honor of being designated a 2020 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team and had four players earn ITA Scholar-Athlete distinction.

The ITA All-Academic Team award honors programs which held a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.20 or above during the 2019-20 school year. Liberty posted a 3.47 GPA during the 2019-20 academic year and holds a 3.48 cumulative team GPA, the highest of any women's spring sport on campus.

The ITA Scholar-Athlete distinction is given to student-athletes who are varsity letter winners, have a GPA of 3.50 or above for the current academic year and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters. Junior Grace Hashiguchi, freshman Micaela Ode Mitre, sophomore Kelly Lewis and freshman Esther Lovato earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.

"We are really proud of our team's efforts to be excellent in the classroom as well as the court. We emphasize whole person development, so we are constantly striving to grow in all areas of life," said Liberty Women's Tennis Head Coach Jeff Maren. "This award is a testimony to our girls' desire to improve on a daily basis. To God be the glory!"
