Liberty men's tennis sophomore Josh Wilson earned Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) University Division Men's Tennis All-State singles second team honors.

Wilson is the first player in program history to be named to a VaSID All-State singles team in two straight seasons. In 2019, he earned first team all-state honors in singles.

The sophomore from Reigate, United Kingdom, posted a 16-8 singles mark during the 2019-20 campaign, including a 7-5 spring singles record in the No. 2 position in the lineup. Wilson received a conference-best three ASUN Player of the Week honors this spring, coming on Feb. 12, Feb. 26 and March 11.

Wilson's most memorable win in the spring came in three sets (4-6, 6-2, 6-4) over Virginia Tech's Alex Ribeiro on Feb. 9, clinching a 4-3 Flames victory in what was their first-ever win over an ACC school. He also earned notable victories over opponents from No. 38 Virginia, Penn State, William & Mary and Elon.

Wilson went 9-3 in fall singles matches. The sophomore reached the Red singles flight final in the season-opening Liberty University Invitational (Sept. 15) and posted a 4-0 singles record at the Flames Invitational to close out his second fall campaign in a Flames uniform.

Wilson and Liberty finished the 2020 campaign with an 8-6 overall record before the season was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Flames paced all ASUN squads with four player of the week honors, three from Wilson and one from freshmen Goncalo Ferreira (Jan. 29).
