Parker is a grad transfer from Henderson State University.
Liberty basketball has added Chris Parker to its 2020 signing class. Parker is a 6-1 graduate transfer from Henderson State University and will have one year of eligibility left.
"We are really excited about the addition of Chris Parker to our program," head coach Ritchie McKay said. "Chris has a track record of winning and has been a leader of successful programs. He comes from a terrific family and we are thrilled to welcome them to Liberty."
Parker was one of the best players in the GAC Conference, at the NCAA Division II level, leading Henderson State to a GAC Conference Tournament title in 2020. The native of Plano, Texas averaged double figures all three seasons at Henderson State, including averaging 15.3 points, 3.4 assists and 2.8 rebounds this season. Parker is a two-time GAC All-Conference selection and was named the 2020 GAC Tournament MVP.
Prior to Henderson State, Parker played for NTSI (National Top Sports Institute) Post Graduate Basketball Academy in 2017 where he averaged 17.0 points and 4.0 assists per game under head coach Chris Chaney. Parker was a 2017 Texas All-Region 1 Selection, shooting 48 percent from the field and 37 percent from beyond the arc while leading his team to a district championship and a 28-7 record.
Parker played two years at Plano East High School where he averaged 15.0 points, 3.1 assists and 1.8 steals per game and was named the Offensive MVP of District 6-6A and was a member of the TAB Coaches All-State Team.
Parker is the fifth member of Liberty's 2020 signing class, joining incoming freshmen Micaiah Abii, Drake Dobbs, Jonathan Jackson and Isiah Warfield.
