Liberty's Keegan McDowell is set to return to the Liberty men's basketball team for the 2020-21 season. McDowell utilized his redshirt season this past year and will enter next year as a redshirt junior.
"We are very excited about Keegan's return to our program. He is a wonderful person," head coach Ritchie McKay said. "His representation of his family and our university has been exemplary. I believe he'll significantly impact us on the floor as well as off."
McDowell has been a part of Liberty's historic run of playing in three straight conference championship games, playing in 68 career games at Liberty, shooting 37 percent from three-point range throughout his career.
"I am excited to announce that I am returning to Liberty. I have grown so much in the last three years at Liberty both as a player and as a person," McDowell said. "Throughout this year as a redshirt, I have realized that Liberty is the place for me, and it is where I want to continue my career as a student-athlete. The culture we have here is second-to-none and I am ready to continue that tradition with my brothers."
