On National Student-Athlete Day, the ASUN Conference has released its Senior Spotlight video on the Liberty women's lacrosse program.
Liberty Women's Lacrosse Head Coach Kelly Nangle honors the eight-player senior class which was responsible for the two best seasons in program history. The senior class includes defender Sarah Steenson, midfielder Carly White, defender Molly Blake, midfielder Hannah Quast, attacker Grace Fletcher, attacker Jenna Joyal, defender Paige Rhoderick and goalkeeper Aubrie Tarris.
In 2018, the Lady Flames won 13 games in their final year in the Big South Conference. In 2019, Liberty claimed a program-record 14 wins against only five losses and advanced to the ASUN Lacrosse Championship title game in its first year in the league.
Here are some other accomplishments of this senior class: • 36-26 overall record | 15-5 conference record (5-1 ASUN, 10-4 Big South) • Six all-conference awards • Nine conference weekly awards (offensive player of the week, defensive player of the week or freshman of the week) • Two all-tournament team selections • Led nation in caused turnovers in 2018 and 2019, finished second in 2020 and third in 2017
