Caleb Homesley was named ASUN Player of the Week on Feb. 24.
For the second time in three weeks, Liberty's Caleb Homesley was named the ASUN Player of the Week. The honor comes after Homesley averaged 25 points, seven rebounds and 3.5 assists this past week. This is the third time this season Homesley has garnered the award and fourth time in his career.
The native of Indian Trail, N.C. recorded his sixth and seventh 20-point game of his season in Liberty's two wins over two of the top teams in the ASUN, North Florida and Stetson. In last week's showdown against North Florida for a battle of first place, Homesley led the way scoring a game-high 28 points to go along with seven rebounds and three assists. The senior made a career-high 11 free throws to defeat North Florida.
To complete the sweep at the Vines Center, Homesley scored a game-high 22 points on Senior Day in Liberty's win over Stetson. Homesley filled the stat sheet as he also posted seven rebounds and four assists. Homesley shot 57.7 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from three-point range for the week, as the Flames moved to first place in the ASUN Conference.
During conference play, Homesley is averaging 17.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. Homesley and the Flames return to action on Thursday, Feb. 27, when they travel to face Kennesaw State.
