Kara Canetto went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI against Elon.
Liberty earned back-to-back victories on Sunday at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field, capping their weekend with a 12-3, six-inning win over Elon.
The Lady Flames, who beat No. 6 Michigan 6-5 this morning, improve to 3-11 on the season after going 2-2 this weekend. Elon falls to 7-5 on the season following its fourth straight loss.
These two teams will meet again on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium as part of the Liberty Softball Classic.

Notable Numbers - Liberty set season highs in runs (12) and hits (11), while Elon managed three runs on five hits with four errors. Those errors led to four unearned runs.
- Karlie Keeney (2-4) earned her second career win, allowing three runs on five hits, walking one and striking out two. - Katie Hoover (0-1) drew the loss, yielding five runs (four earned) on three hits, walking two in 1 1/3 innings pitched. Alexa Nemeth gave up seven runs (four earned) on eight hits, with four walks and two strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings. - Savannah Channell went 3-for-4 with a career-high three RBI, while Amber Bishop batted 2-for-2 with a homer, two RBI and two runs scored. Caroline Hudson batted 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored, while Kara Canetto contributed a double, two RBI and one run scored.
- Elon's Keagan Goldwait had the team's lone RBI hit, a three-run double in the second.
Turning Point - Amber Bishop led off the second inning with a solo home run, sparking a seven-run second that featured six hits and one error. Elon responded with a three-run double from Goldwait in the bottom of the second, but that was all that the Phoenix would muster as Keeney retired 14 out of the last 15 batters she faced.
Beyond the Box Score - Liberty now leads the all-time series against Elon 11-6, defeating the Phoenix for the first time since March 5, 2005. - Liberty's seven-run second inning was its highest-scoring single inning this season. In fact, coming into today's contest, Liberty had not scored more than three runs in any inning in 2020, and had a single-game season high of six runs scored. - Keeney posted a 2.62 ERA and a .221 opponents' hitting percentage during three appearances at the Gamecock Invitational.
- Amber Bishop has tied Ashley Williams (2005-08) for the program record with 249 career hits. Bishop hit homers in three straight at bats, including her last two at bats in this morning's win against No. 6 Michigan.
- Channell recorded her first career three-hit game, the fourth Lady Flame this season with three hits in a single game.
