The Lady Flames earned USTFCCCA All-Academic status by virtue of their 3.60 cumulative team GPA.
Liberty's men's and women's cross country squads were both recognized as U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Teams on Thursday, thanks to their stellar work in the classroom.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.
The Lady Flames qualified for the honor with a 3.60 team GPA, while the Flames boast a 3.15 team GPA.
Individually, eight Lady Flames maintain a 4.0 cumulative GPA, including Naomi Armstrong, Brittany Carnathan, Madeline Hebert, Abby Orvis, Noel Palmer, Calli Parlier, Jessica Rogers and Kristiana Young. Carnathan represented the team on the ASUN All-Academic squad in November.
Under the direction of coaches Brant Tolsma, Isaac Wendland and Rachel Johnson, Liberty also enjoyed a successful 2019 season on the course. The Flames and Lady Flames both finished as ASUN runners-up for the second year in a row.
