The Liberty women's tennis team has unveiled its spring 2020 dual match slate.

"We have a demanding schedule this year. From our first matches in Florida to a strong home schedule in February and March and finishing with competitive conference matches, we must be ready to bring our best level week in and week out," said Lady Flames head coach Jeff Maren. "But this is what it takes to be prepared for the conference tournament, so we welcome the challenge!"

Liberty will serve as the host for the 2020 ASUN Women's Tennis Championship, April 24-26 at the Cook Tennis Center. The winner of the six-team tournament will earn an automatic berth to the 2020 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships. The last time the Lady Flames played a conference tournament on their home courts was in 2016 when they hosted the Big South Women's Tennis Championship.

Liberty's spring schedule features three nationally-ranked opponents from the final 2019 Oracle/ITA Division I Women's Rankings: No. 55 Furman (home, Feb. 22), No. 66 Florida Atlantic (away, Feb. 9) and No. 75 Florida International (neutral at FAU, Feb. 7).

The Lady Flames' schedule will begin in Florida with a pair of neutral site matches against Miami (Ohio) and Middle Tennessee State, Jan. 17-18 at Florida Gulf Coast. Liberty's first home match will be on Jan. 25 against the Georgetown Hoyas.

Liberty's spring schedule also features a trip to Hawaii for two matches. The Lady Flames will take on North Texas (March 10) and Hawaii (March 11) on back-to-back days while in the Aloha State.

The Lady Flames, who are entering their second season in the ASUN Conference, will begin ASUN competition at home against NJIT on March 26. Liberty will then take on 2019 ASUN Championship runner-up FGCU, March 28 in Lynchburg, followed by an April 2 road match at five-time defending conference champion North Florida.

Liberty finished 15-7 overall and 6-1 in league play in its first year in the ASUN, last spring. The Lady Flames earned a share of the conference's regular-season crown and the No. 1 seed for the ASUN Women's Tennis Championship. Kalani Soli earned ASUN All-conference first team honors, while Alexandra Almborg garnered inclusion on the ASUN All-Freshmen team. Head coach Jeff Maren was selected as the 2019 ASUN Women's Tennis Coach of the Year.
