After posting an 11-5 conference record, Liberty has earned the third seed for the 2019 ASUN Volleyball Championship, hosted by FGCU Thursday through Saturday at Alico Arena.

The Lady Flames (18-10, 11-5 ASUN) will face sixth seeded North Florida (15-17, 7-9) in Thursday's second quarterfinal match at 7:30 p.m. The winner of that match will take on No. 2 seed Kennesaw State (20-8, 13-3) on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Thursday's 5 p.m. match features No. 4 seed Lipscomb (15-12, 11-5) against No. 5 seed Stetson (12-14, 9-7), with the winner advancing to face top-seeded FGCU (26-4, 14-2), Friday at 5 p.m.

Liberty, in its second year in the ASUN Conference, appears in the conference tournament for the second year in a row. The Lady Flames drew the fourth seed last year, sweeping Stetson in the quarterfinal before falling to eventual champion FGCU in straight sets in the semifinal round. Liberty won seven Big South tournament titles and is looking for its first conference championship since 2012.

The Lady Flames swept the season series from North Florida, sweeping the Ospreys on Sept. 29 at the Vines Center and defeating UNF in four sets last Sunday in Jacksonville.

Defending ASUN champion FGCU captured its second straight regular-season championship, finishing 14-2 in conference play, and will serve as the No. 1 seed. Kennesaw State (12-4) will be the No. 2 seed for the second year in a row. Liberty and Lipscomb finished tied for third place, with Liberty winning the second tiebreaker (RPI) to get the third seed. Stetson (9-7) and North Florida (7-9) round out the field in fifth and sixth, respectively. These same six teams qualified for the 2018 ASUN Volleyball Championship.

The 2019 ASUN Volleyball Championship opens on Thursday with two quarterfinal matches and ends with the championship match on Saturday at 5 p.m. The ASUN tournament champion earns an automatic qualification into the 2019 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship. All matches of the 2019 ASUN Volleyball Championship will air live on ESPN+, which can be viewed for a subscription.
