The Lady Flames tennis team claimed a doubles title and two singles titles on the third and final day of competition at the Cal State Northridge Fall Invitational, Sunday at the Matador Tennis Complex.

The Liberty freshmen pairing of Tiffany Nguyen and Micaela Ode Mitre completed a perfect 3-0 weekend by winning a title in the top doubles (A) division, while freshman Esther Lovato and junior Grace Hashiguchi each captured singles titles in their respective divisions.

Over the course of the three-day tournament, Liberty won 16 singles matches and nine doubles bouts.

Nguyen and Ode Mitre's title came while facing the top doubles teams in the tournament in the A draw. The duo won a thriller, 7-6 (7), over Long Beach State's Wiktoria Rutkowska and Carlota Casasampere in the final to finish the weekend 3-0 and win their first-ever collegiate doubles crown. Nguyen and Ode Mitre wrap up the fall with a 6-3 doubles mark.

Lovato, entered in the D singles draw, faced her teammate Ode Mitre in the championship match. Lovato prevailed in three sets, 7-5, 2-6, 6-2. She finishes her first fall at Liberty with an 8-3 singles record.

Hashiguchi knocked off Utah State's Sidnee Lavatai in straight sets (6-3, 6-1) to win the E singles flight. Her three victories this weekend gives her six this fall.

The titles are the first career singles titles for both Lovato and Hashiguchi.

Lovato and Hashiguchi also teamed up to win a third place match in the D doubles flight by a 6-2 count over Utah State's Gabrielle Dekkers and Zara Ryan to finish the event with a  2-1 record as a pairing.

The Lady Flames' Kalani Soli and Eloise Saraty competed in the C doubles final versus Azusa Pacific's Anna Savchenko and Petre Ivankovic. The Cougars' pairing won the match 6-3 to capture the title.
