Sophia Jantomaso, Madison MacPherson, Vivian Reed, Kyley Sorg, Chelsea Stocki and Emma Zealand will race in the women's 4K at 5:10 p.m. at Virginia Tech's Buford Meredith Cross Country Course.

Checking Out the Course This is the 13th straight year that Liberty has competed in at least one meet at the Buford Meredith Cross Country Course, which played host to the 2019 ACC Cross Country Championships last Friday.
Among Friday's entrants, only Reed and Zealand will be racing on the course for the first time.
Jantomaso, MacPherson and Sorg all opened their collegiate careers at the Buford Meredith Cross Country Course, taking part in the Virginia Tech Invitational on Aug. 31, 2018. Sorg paced the Lady Flames with a 10th-place finish that afternoon.
Looking Back at Last Year The Lady Flames claimed the women's team title at the 2018 Hokie Open for the second straight season, topping host Virginia Tech, 27-32.
Jamie Anderson and Naomi Armstrong finished second and fourth overall, respectively. Those performances helped springboard the duo to strong sophomore campaigns. On Saturday, Armstrong placed 17th and Anderson was 19th at the ASUN Cross Country Championships.
MacPherson is the only Lady Flame who will be racing at the Hokie Open for the second year in a row. Last season, she placed seventh with a 4K time of 15:40.2, serving as Liberty's No. 4 runner.
Up Next Liberty's top seven men's and women's runners are preparing for the NCAA Division I Southeast Regional Championships. The meet, which will determine the qualifiers for the 2019 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships, is slated for Nov. 15 at Panorama Farms in Earlysville, Va.
