Liberty to Host Lispcomb for Senior Night Saturday

The Flames return to Osborne Stadium for their final regular season match of 2019, Saturday. Liberty will host the Lipscomb Bisons in a key ASUN Conference match. Before the contest, Liberty will hold Senior Day ceremonies honoring the seven Flames playing in their last regular season contest.

Liberty Notables
• Before Saturday's match, Liberty will recognize the seven Flames playing in their last home contest. The program will honor Carter Burris, Bobby Bynum, Shalom Dutey, Ruben Garcia, Evan Godfrey, Rigo Rojas and Matt Zaczyk for their contributions to Liberty soccer.

• With a win or tie on Saturday, Liberty will secure the final spot in the ASUN Conference Men's Soccer Championship which starts on Friday, Nov. 8.With a victory over the Bisons, Liberty will be the No. 5 seed. Lipscomb has already qualified for the tournament and will secure the No. 5 seed with a win or tie.

• The Flames also can capture the final spot in the ASUN Men's Soccer Championship with a loss or tie by Jacksonville at ASUN-leading NJIT on Saturday. Liberty defeated Jacksonville 1-0 in Florida this past Saturday.

• Senior Shalom Dutey scored the game's lone goal and goalkeeper Brogan Engbers tied a career-high with seven saves in Liberty's 1-0 win over Jacksonville on Saturday. Dutey becomes the eighth different Flame to score a goal this season.

• Saturday's contest will be the second meeting all-time and the first in Lynchburg, Va. between Liberty and Lipscomb. In their first-ever meeting last season, the 2018 ASUN Champion Bisons defeated the Flames 3-1 in Nashville, Tenn. on Oct. 13.

• Recieving his first start in goal since Sept. 6, Brogan Engbers recorded seven saves in Liberty's 1-0 victory over Jacksonville, this past Saturday. Engbers tied his career-high for saves in a contest in the match. In five games, the junior has posted a 1.16 goals-against average and a .815 save percentage in over 388 minutes of play.
Freshman Danny Cordero has started 12 contests for the Flames. He has a 1.88 goals-against average and a .593 save percentage in over 1, 051 minutes. Each goalkeeper has recorded a shutout.

• Senior midfielder Ruben Garcia will be one of seven Flames honored in pregame ceremonies on Saturday. Garcia is expected to make his 40th consecutive start in the contest. The streak has spanned three seasons for the native of Madrid, Spain.
