Muamba finished 2-1 at the Naples 25k ITF Futures tournament.
Nicaise Muamba of the Liberty Flames tennis team dropped his third round qualifying match to Finland's Eero Vasa on Tuesday at the Naples 25k ITF Futures tournament at Academia Sanchez-Casal Florida.
Muamba, who had won qualifying matches on Sunday and Monday to set up the showdown against Vasa with a spot in the singles main draw on the line, lost the match 6-2, 6-1.
The Liberty junior wraps up his time at the ITF Futures event with a 2-1 singles mark. Muamba holds a 9-6 singles mark this fall and is currently the 65th-ranked singles player in the country.
Muamba will be back in action starting on Sunday at the Malibu 25k ITF Futures event in Malibu, Calif. The tournament, which runs through Nov. 10, will be held at Pepperdine's Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Flames' roster will close out the fall at the Flames Invitational, Nov. 8-10 at the Cook Tennis Center.
