Soli picked up a singles victory on Saturday at the ITA Atlantic Regional.
Liberty senior Kalani Soli dominated her singles match on Saturday to advance to the next round at the ITA Atlantic Regional at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center on the campus of Virginia Tech.
Soli, the No. 12 seed in the singles main draw, bested VCU's Luminita Tutunaru in straight sets (6-0, 6-2) in the round of 64. She advances to face James Madison's Kylie Moulin on Sunday in the round of 32.
In a consolation match, Lady Flames sophomore Alexandra Almborg bested George Washington's Sarah Bodewes in straight sets (6-4, 6-2).
Through two days of competition, Liberty has six singles victories and three doubles triumphs.
Junior Caisey Lee Emery dropped her round of 64 match today to No. 72-ranked Natalie Novotna of Virginia Tech by a 6-3, 6-2 score. The Lady Flames' Micaela Ode Mitre received a spot into the round of 64 despite losing yesterday, but Ode Mitre fell to Virginia's Sofie Munera in two sets (6-1, 6-2).
Ode Mitre and her doubles partner, Tiffany Nguyen, lost 8-4 in the doubles round of 32 to No. 3 seed Vivian Glozman and Chloe Gullickson of Virginia.
Soli and Eloise Saraty dropped a tight match (8-6 score) to No. 14 seed Charlotte Madison and Vitoria Okuyama of William & Mary in the second round of doubles. Finally, the Lady Flames' Alexandra Almborg and Nasha Ghajar saw their run in the doubles main draw come to an end as well with an 8-6 setback against Emily Dunbar and Kiana Marshall of Richmond, the No. 11 seed.
Day three of the ITA Atlantic Regional will begin at 9 a.m. on Sunday and features the doubles quarterfinals and the singles rounds of 32 and 16.
