After claiming medalist honors earlier this week at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate, Liberty's Jonathan Yaun has been named the ASUN Men's Golfer of the Week.
Yaun shared first place with three other golfers after firing an 8-under par 205 (73-65-67) at the Royal Oaks Country Club (par 71, 7,086 yards) in Dallas, Texas, on Monday and Tuesday.
The first-place showing helped Liberty finish the tournament in third place out of 12 teams with a 12-under par 840 (286-271-283), the team's lowest 54-hole total of the season.
The native of Minneola, Fla., came into the tournament having carded just two sub-70 rounds in 46 previous rounds of his collegiate career. His previous career low 18-hole total was a pair of rounds at 69 during his freshman season.
The 8-under par 205 marked the lowest 54-hole total of his career and accounted for the first time he has posted a sub-par tournament total.
Yaun finished the tournament with 13 birdies and ranked tied for second in the field in par-3 (2-under par 2.83 average) and par-4 (5-under par 3.85 average) scoring.
Yaun is the second Flame to be named an ASUN Men's Golfer of the Week this season. Redshirt junior Kieran Vincent took home the same honor on Sept. 5 following a runner-up finish at the 2019 Island Resort Intercollegiate, Liberty's season-opening event.
