The Liberty women's lacrosse team received academic honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) on Wednesday afternoon.

The program earned IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad for the second year in a row. Additionally, Grace Fletcher, Kayla Foster and Faith Wells garnered inclusion on the 2019 IWLCA Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll.

"I am really proud of our student-athletes for continuing to pursue excellence both on and off the field. To consistently earn this award as a team is a testament to the quality of young women we are teaching and coaching," stated Liberty Women's Lacrosse Head Coach Kelly Nangle. "We are blessed with an incredible academics staff that supports our girls every step of the way. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to guide and grow this group on a daily basis!"

The Lady Flames have now been named an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad in four of Nangle's six years as head coach. To qualify for the prestigious honor, a team must have posted a 3.0 team grade point average (GPA) or higher for the academic year. Liberty achieved a 3.14 team GPA during the 2018-19 school year.
