The Liberty women's tennis squad and head coach Jeff Maren have announced the addition of Caisey Lee Emery for the 2019-20 school year.

"I've known Caisey Lee for several years now and have always felt she would be a great fit for our team. So I'm very excited to have her join us," Maren said. "She will not only bring a high level of tennis to us, but her strong determination to excel, her mental strength and her faith will all contribute to helping us continue our growth as a program."

Emery hails from Ventura, Calif., and has spent the past two years competing for the Cal State Fullerton Titans women's tennis program. Over the past two years, she has totaled 33 singles victories and 21 doubles wins for a Titans squad which has posted a combined 35-12 overall record and a 12-4 mark in the Big West Conference.

"I chose Liberty because of the Christian atmosphere, the coaches' love for the game and their drive to help their players succeed and for the ability to complete the master's program I want," Emery stated. "I'm really looking forward to being around like-minded people and to growing more in my faith, in tennis, academically and as an overall person. I'm also looking forward to winning a conference title and helping the program grow and become even more successful!"

During her sophomore season (2018-19), Emery claimed 18 singles matches and 12 doubles matches. She posted a 12-5 singles record in dual matches while playing in the No. 3 and No. 4 positions in the lineup.

As a freshman during the 2017-18 campaign, Emery won 15 singles matches, with 11 of those coming in the spring. She held an 11-5 mark at No. 5 singles for a Titans squad which posted a 20-6 overall record and 6-2 mark in the Big West Conference. Emery won 10 singles matches in a row at one point during her freshman year and also collected nine total doubles triumphs.

Prior to the start of her playing career at Cal State Fullerton, Emery was ranked as high as No. 14 in the country in junior tennis in 2015 and was a five-star recruit. In the past year, the California native has reached as high as 10.3 in the Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) system.
