Liberty Flames Athletics continued to shine in the classroom during the 2018-19 academic year.
Liberty student-athletes are currently maintaining a collective 3.16 cumulative GPA. At the conclusion of the 2018-19 school year, a total of 356 student-athletes are maintaining a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA (61 percent). Additionally, 40 student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA. Of Liberty's 20 athletics programs, 16 of those current hold a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA.
"Liberty student-athletes are succeeding in the classroom, and it is a credit to their hard work along with strong support from our coaches, Academic Affairs for Athletics staff and faculty," said Director of Athletics Ian McCaw.
The Liberty volleyball program holds the highest cumulative GPA (3.70) of any team on campus, while the Lady Flames posted a 3.74 team GPA during the 2018-19 school year. The Liberty men's tennis squad leads all men's teams with a 3.27 GPA. The Flames achieved the best team GPA (3.38) among male teams, this year.
