This spring the Liberty women's soccer team took a trip to Costa Rica as the program combined soccer along with mission work.
During Liberty's Spring Break, the Lady Flames went different schools, giving back to local communities. A few players not only spoke with LFSN's GameOn about their experience, but also wrote about it in their blog. "Costa Rica was life changing," junior Kayleigh Kardos said. "Being able to be the light (for kids) was so neat. It was so reviving for our team."
The team picked up trash on school campuses while also spending time with kids at recess playing soccer and other activities with the local children. Being able to give back to those less fortunate, the Lady Flames made an impact on young girl's lives as they each made bracelets to give to each of the young girls that brought them to tears.
"At first I didn't think much of it, I thought the girls would like it," Kardos said about making the bracelets. "Just the amount of girls that were brought to tears because it was the biggest present that they had received in years."
