Liberty sophomore Noel Palmer has been voted to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Women's Track & Field/Cross Country team for District 3.

One of only 10 sophomores nationally to earn first-team Academic All-District® honors, Palmer advances to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot, with Academic All-America® honorees to be announced on June 27.

A biology major with a 4.0 GPA, Palmer earned her second academic honor of the day. Earlier on Tuesday, the Forest, Va., native was named to the ASUN Conference Women's All-Academic Team for women's outdoor track & field.

Palmer's 2018 cross country season saw her garner all-region (18th place at the NCAA Division I Southeast Regional Championships) and all-conference (second place at the ASUN Cross Country Championships) honors. She also clocked a Liberty 5K school-record time of 17:09 at the Queen City Invite and earned a trio of ASUN Women's Runner of the Week honors.

On the track, Palmer contributed to the Lady Flames' ASUN indoor and outdoor championships and the team's ECAC indoor crown. She was the ASUN runner-up in the indoor 3K, indoor 5K and outdoor 5K and placed fifth in the ECAC indoor 5K final.

Palmer raced to a 10K school-record time of 33:56.67 at the Raleigh Relays, earning ASUN Women's Track Athlete of the Week laurels on April 3. That performance also qualified her for the NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round meet for the second year in a row.
