• Liberty is in the midst of a nine-game road trip, their longest of the season. The Flames do not return home until May 10th when they host ASUN opponent Lipscomb. After dropping their first ASUN Conference series of the season, two games to one, at Jacksonville, this past weekend, Liberty has started the trip with a 1-3 mark.

• For the 15th consecutive season, Liberty has won 30 or more games. The Flames reached the 30-win mark with a 4-1, 11 inning victory over Jacksonville on Friday. With a 30-11 record, it is the fastest that the Flames have reached the milestone since 2014, when they posted a 30-9 mark.

• Liberty and North Carolina will meet for the second time this season on Tuesday. The Flames defeated the Tar Heels 2-0 at Liberty Baseball Stadium on March 19. It is one of the Flames' six shutouts and the only time in 2019 that North Carolina has failed to score in a game.

• After six consecutive wins in the midweek, Liberty has dropped back-to-back midweek contests at  Wake Forest and last Tuesday at Virginia.  The Flames had not lost a mid-week game since February 26 at Tennessee. Liberty is now 7-3 in midweek contests.

• Liberty enters Tuesday's contest with a 7-8 road record. Of Liberty's final 12 regular season games, eight are road contests.

• In their first season as members of the ASUN Conference, the Flames are second in the conference standings with a 10-5 record. This past weekend, Liberty dropped their first ASUN series of the year at Jacksonville, losing two of the three contests.

• Entering the week, the Flames lead the ASUN Conference  and are seventh nationally with a 3.10 ERA. Liberty pitchers have also combined for a  team WHIP of 1.19,  which is 10th in the country, and allowed 7.2 hits per inning, which is seventh nationally.  In addition, the Flames lead the ASUN with a .220 opponent batting average and 398 batters struck out. Right-hander Garret Price is 13th in the country with a 1.52 ERA, while ranking 24th in 0.91 WHIP.

  • C Jonathan Embry has reached base safely in 18 straight games. The Liberty leadoff hitter has a.314 batting average and a .467 on base percentage during the span.
  • 1B Logan Mathieu leads the Flames and is third in the ASUN Conference with 36 RBI.
  • 2B Will Wagner leads the Flames with a .325 batting average and is fourth in the ASUN with 33 RBI. The sophomore had his reached base safely streak snapped at 21 games on Saturday at Jacksonville. It is the longest by a Flame this season.
  • SS Cam Locklear has hit .365 with 12 RBI and 14 runs scored during the month of April. The junior has raised his batting average 67 points during the 16 games in the month to .282.
  •  LF Gray Betts has batted .385 with an on base percentage of .522 during the month of April. The freshman, who has seen action in the outfield, designated hitter and catcher over the span, has had at least one hit in13 of the 16 games Liberty has played during the month. His on base percentage of .458 is currently second in the ASUN Conference.
  • RF Brandon Rohrer is hitting .370 with runners in scoring position.
  • DH Ben Highfill had two hits, a double and two RBI, Sunday at Jacksonville. The junior hit his first home run of the season at Virginia, last Tueday.
  • Pitcher Evan Brabrand enters the week as the ASUN leader in saves with nine. He has allowed four earned runs over 38 2/3 innings in 17 appearances (a 0.93 ERA). He ran his record to 3-1 with 4 1/3 innings of relief in Liberty's 4-1 win at Jacksonville on Friday. Last week, Brabrand was named to the NCBWA Midseason Stopper of the Year Warch List.
