• Liberty begins a nine-game road trip, their longest of the season, on Tuesday. The Flames do not return home until May 10th when they host ASUN opponent Lipscomb. Liberty will face Virginia, North Carolina and Duke in midweek games, while squaring off in three-game ASUN Conference series at Jacksonville and Kennesaw State.

• Liberty enters Tuesday's contest with a 7-6 road record. The Flames fell at Wake Forest 6-2 in their most recent road contest, last Tuesday. The Flames are scheduled to play 12 of thier final 16 regular season games away from Liberty Baseball Stadium.

• After six consecutive wins in the midweek, Liberty dropped a midweek contest at  Wake Forest, this past Tuesday.  The Flames had not lost a mid-week game since February 26 at Tennessee. With the setback, Liberty is now 7-2 in midweek contests. In addition, the loss was the Flames' first in six games against an ACC opponent, including a win over Virginia on March 13.

• In their first season as members of the ASUN Conference, the Flames are tied with Florida Gulf Coast at  the top of the conference's standings with a 9-3 record. In its last ASUN series, Liberty took two out of its three-games from ASUN defending champion Stetson at Liberty Baseball Stadium, April 13-14. The Flames return to ASUN play with a three-game series at Jacksonville, this weekend.

• Liberty's bats have heated up since starting ASUN Conference play on March 22. The Flames have raised their team batting aver- age 28 points from .240 to .268, while boosting their on base percentage 16 points and slugging percentage 33 points over the 19-game span. Liberty has also more than doubled its home run total during  that time (nine to 22).

• Over its last 19 games since starting ASUN action, Liberty has gone 14-5 and scored 130 runs. During that span, the Flames are batting .295, led by right-fielder Brandon Rohrer with a .373 mark and freshman Gray Betts at .353.

• Entering the week, the Flames lead the ASUN Conference  and are ninth nationally with a 3.00 ERA. Liberty pithcers have also combined for a  team WHIP of 1.17,  which is 10th in the country, and allowed 7.04 hits per inning, which is 10th best nationally. Right-hander Garret Price leads the nation with a 0.86 ERA.

Around the Diamond

  • Jonathan Embry hit a home run in each game of Liberty's doubleheader with North Carolina A&T on Saturday. The redshirt junior leads the Flames with six home runs. He also leads the ASUN Conference with 40 runs scored.
  • Logan Mathieu leads the Flames and is third in the ASUN Conference with 35 RBI. The sophomore has driven in 20 runs over his last 20 games.
  • Will Wagner enters Tuesday's contest, having reached base safely in 19 consecutive games. The streak ties Logan Mathieu for the longest reached safely streak this season. Wagner leads the Flames with a .338 batting average.
  • Cam Locklear has hit .345 over his last  15 games, raising his batting average 51 points to .280.  The shortstop also has batted .366 with 14 RBI in 11 road contests this season.
  • Since becoming a regular member of the Flames' starting lineup on March 24, Gray Betts has batted .385 with an on base percentage of .500 over the ensuing 17 games. The freshman, who has seen action in the outfield, designated hitter and catcher over the span, has had at least one hit in each of his last five games and in nine of his last 10.
  • Brandon Rohrer has hit .359 over the last 20 games to raise his batting from .288 to .331. During the span, he has had nine games with two or more hits (45%).
  • Left-hander Mason Meyer has not allowed more than three runs in any of his last six starts.
  • Garret Price pitched two innings of scoreless relief, combining with starter Joseph Adametz for a 3-0 win over North Carolina A&T, Saturday in game one of a doubleheader. With that outing, Price lowered his ERA to 0.86, which leads the nation. The right-hander also sports a 0.77 WHIP, third best in the country.
  • Evan Brabrand enters the week as the ASUN leader in saves with nine. He has allowed only three runs over 32 1/3 innings in 14 appearances.
