No. 21 Liberty made a late round push to win its second tournament of the season, but the Flames fell just short and finished in second place at the 2019 Linger Longer Invitational.
The Flames found themselves tied with No. 15 Georgia with three holes to play; however, the Bulldogs' starting five posted a combined seven birdies during the last three holes to pull away for the win.
No. 15 Georgia claimed its fifth title at the Linger Longer Invitational and first since 2014 by posting a winning score of 19-under par 845 (285-283-277) on The Landing at Reynolds Lake Oconee course (par 72, 6,991 yards).
No. 21 Liberty finished in the runner-up position with a 13-under par 851 (282-286-283), while No. 25 Louisville took third place with a 10-under par 854 (278-290-286). No. 24 Alabama rounded out the top four teams in the field, finishing in fourth place with a 5-under par 859 (288-276-295).

Field Reflections: • Four of the five top-25 ranked teams in the field finished atop the 15-team leaderboard (No. 15 Georgia -19; No. 21 Liberty -13; No. 25 Louisville -10; No. 24 Alabama -5). • No. 22 Tennessee struggled during the event, finished in 13th place with a 22-over par 886 (300-287-299). • The Landing at Reynolds Lake Oconee course played tough during the final round as the field posted an average score of 74.10, and only five teams carded an under-par team score on Sunday. • Georgia's Spencer Ralston, the No. 76 ranked golfer in the country, closed the event with a 6-under par 66 to finish atop the leaderboard with an overall winning score of 11-under par 205 (70-69-66).
Birdies and Bogeys – Liberty Team Notes: • The tournament was Liberty's second of three regular season events where the Flames will only play 18 holes per day during a 54-hole event. • Alexandre Fuchs led the Flames during the event, finishing tied for second place with an 8-under par 208 (71-66-71). • Fuchs' second-round 6-under par 66 matched his 6-under par 66 during the second round of the Intercollegiate at The Grove on Oct. 8, 2018. • Fuchs would go on to share medalist honors with fellow teammate Gabe Lench at Intercollegiate at The Grove, helping Liberty to claim the event's team title. • Ervin Chang, who individual ranks No. 52 in the country, finished tied for eighth place with a 4-under par 212 (69-71-72). • Chang's even par round of 72 on Sunday snapped a streak of five-straight rounds with an under-par score. • Liberty played two 54-hole events during the week with Chang posting a combined score of 13-under par. • Gabe Lench (73-73-71), who individually ranks No. 60 in the country, and Jonathan Yaun (70-77-69) rounded out Liberty's top golfers by finishing tied for 21st place with an even par 216. • Jonathan Yaun closed the event with a 3-under par 69, the first sub-70 round of the freshman's collegiate career.
