Following a third-place showing at the General Hackler Championship, Liberty's Ervin Chang has been named the ASUN Co-Men's Golfer of the Week.
The junior fired a 9-under par 207 (70-69-68) on The Dunes Golf & Beach Club (par 72, 7,233 yards) in Myrtle Beach, S.C., Monday and Tuesday of this week.
Chang's third-place showing helped Liberty finish the event in third place as a team, Liberty's fifth-straight top-five finish of the season.
Chang shares ASUN Co-Men's Golfer of the Week with North Florida's Travis Trace (9-under par 207/66-67-74-207), who also finished tied for third place the General Hackler Championship.
The weekly conference honor is the second for Chang this season, as he was also named ASUN Men's Golfer of the Week on Nov. 1, 2018.
Chang ranked third in the 78-man field with 15 birdies and tied for the team lead in par-3 scoring (-2/2.83 average) and par-5 scoring (-8/4.33 average) at the Coastal Carolina hosted tournament.
The native of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, has posted an under-par score in five out of six events this season. He currently leads the Flames with a 71.00 season stroke average and recorded two of his six sub-70 rounds of the season at the event earlier this week.
With the third-place showing at the General Hackler Championship, Chang individually moved up to No. 52 in the country in the Golfstat player rankings. As a team, Liberty is ranked No. 21 in the country by Golfstat this week, matching the highest ranking in program history.
