No. 25 Liberty was among the top teams in the field to distance themselves from the rest during the afternoon flight, leaving the Flames in second place heading into tomorrow's final round of the 2019 General Hackler Championship.
Following two trips around The Dunes Golf and Beach Club (par 72, 7,233 yards), Liberty is in second with a 36-hole total of 18-under par 558 (282-276). The Flames closed the day with a 12-under par 276, their lowest 18-hole team total of the season.
Liberty enters tomorrow's final round trailing clubhouse leader and fellow ASUN Conference member North Florida by four shots. The No. 18 ranked Ospreys lead the 13-team field with a 22-under par 554 (278-276).
Liberty enters the final round tied with No. 6 ranked Wake Forest for second place (278-280) and is four shots clear of fourth place and No. 29 ranked Louisville's 14-under par 562 (282-278).

Field Reflections: • The top four teams in the field played the afternoon round at a combined 42-under par, while the remaining nine teams played the second around at a combined 19-over par. • Six total teams enter tomorrow's final round with an under-par score, as Kentucky is in fourth place with a 10-under par 566 (284-282) and No. 17 Georgia is in fifth place with a 5-under par 571 (287-284). • A total of 27 players in the 78-man field finished the first 36 holes of play with an under-par score, including four of Liberty's starting five golfers.
Birdies and Bogeys – Liberty Team Notes: • Liberty's 12-under par 276 during the second round was the Flames' lowest 18-hole total since carding a 15-under par 273 during the second round of the 2018 Big South Men's Golf Championship on April 21, 2018. • The Flames took full advantage of their length off the tee on Monday, as Liberty leads the 13-team field in par-5 scoring, playing the par-5 holes at a combined 24-under par (4.40 scoring average). • Liberty ranked third in the field with 43 total birdies and was the only team to have more than one eagle on the day (Liberty carded two). • Liberty's Gabe Lench, who is the No. 82 ranked golfer in the country, leads the Flames and is in fourth place following a 7-under par 137 (71-66). • Lench's 6-under par 66 during the second round matches his lowest round of the season and is tied for the second lowest round of his four-year career at Liberty. • Ervin Chang, the No. 89 ranked golfer in the country, is in seventh place with a 5-under par 139 (70-69), thanks to his fifth sub-70 round of the season on Monday. • Kieran Vincent rounds out Liberty's top-10 golfers in the field, as the redshirt junior is tied for eighth place after bookending a pair of rounds of 70 to stand with a 4-under par 140 total heading into the field round (70-70). • The Flames will be paired with No. 19 North Florida and No. 6 Wake Forest and will be the last groups off the No. 1 tee tomorrow (par 4, 425 yards), starting at 9:40 a.m.
