•  This weekend's series will be the first meeting between Maine and Liberty since 1987. The three-game series begins a four-game homestand for the Flames. Liberty will close out the homestand with Virginia Tech on Tuesday.

• The Flames have gone 4-0 to open their seventh season at the Liberty Baseball Stadium. Liberty has averaged 20.5 wins a season atthe facility since its opening in 2013.

• Liberty has joined the ASUN Conference for the 2019 season. The Flames have been picked to place third in their first season in the ASUN in the conference's preseason poll.

Last season, scoring first was an important ingredient in the Flame' success. Liberty posted a 25-7 record when plating the first run of a contest, while having a 7-19 mark when its opponents scored the contest's first run.

So far in 2019, the Flames are 3-2 in games in which they have scored first. Liberty has scored in the first inning of five of their first eight games this season.

  • C Jonathan Embry collected his second three-hit game of the season in Liberty's victory, this past Sunday. The redshirt junior doubled, tripled and scored three times. Embry hit .500  and walked four times during the three-game series.
  • 1B Logan Mathieu is the only Liberty player to reach base in all eight games this season.
  • 2B Will Wagner posted his team-leading fourth multi-hit game of the season at Tennessee on Tuesday. The sophomore leads the Flames in batting average (.414), hits (12) and RBI (5).
  • LF Brandon Rohrer made his 2019 debut, this past Friday, walking four times in the Flames' 5-4 victory over Delaware. On Sunday, the sophomore had two hits and drove in a career-high four runs in Liberty's win.
  • CF Freshman Jaylen Guy enters the weekend having reached base safely in each of his last five games.
  • RF Ayden Karraker saw his four-game hitting streak come to an end at Tennessee on Tuesday.  Karraker had at least one hit in all four of Liberty's contests, last week.
  • P Sophomore right-hander Noah Skirrow picked up his first victory of 2019 in the series finale against Delaware, this past Sunday. Skirrow allowed six hits over  eight innings of work, shutting out the Blue Hens. Skirrow also collected a career-high 11 strikeouts. In two starts, Skirrow has posted a 1.29 ERA and struck out 20.
  • P Right-hander Evan Brabrand has not allowed a run over his first 5 2/3 innings in 2019. The right-hander has recorded his first win and save in a Liberty uniform during the span. He has struck out seven batters and walked only one.
