Golfstat National Rankings
Following its best-ever finish at the SunTrust Gator Invitational, the latest Golfstat national rankings have the Liberty men's golf program ranked No. 24 in the country.
The Flames were ranked No. 29 entering into the 2019 SunTrust Gator Invitational, a field that included 10 teams ranked inside the top 75 in the country prior to the Feb. 16-17 event.
Liberty carded a 2-over par 842 (285-277-280) on the Mark Bostic Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla., allowing the Flames to finish the event in third place.
Prior to this year's third-place finish at the Florida-hosted event, Liberty's best showing at a SunTrust Gator Invitational where sixth-place finishes in 2012, 2016 and 2018.
The move up to No. 24 in the latest Golfstat national rankings is Liberty's highest national ranking since it ended the 2011-12 season ranked No. 21 in the country.
Liberty finished in 10th place at the 2012 NCAA Men's Golf National Championship during its inaugural showing at the national championship at the famed Rivera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
Liberty is one of two ASUN men's golf teams in the Golfstat national top-25 rankings, as they are also joined by No. 20 North Florida.
The Flames have squared off against the Ospreys during their first two spring tournament events. North Florida (282-279-282-843/+3) finished in second place at the Sea Best Invitational, while Liberty (279-289-283-851/+11) finished in fourth place during the Jacksonville-hosted event on Feb. 4 and 5.
Liberty (285-277-280-842/+2) finished in third place at the SunTrust Gator Invitational, four shots ahead of fourth place North Florida (277-287-282-846/+6).
