The Lady Flames lacrosse team is set for a midweek game at Robert Morris, Wednesday afternoon.

First draw between Liberty and Robert Morris will be at 3 p.m. at Joe Walton Stadium in Moon Township, Pa., just outside of Pittsburgh.

Liberty enters Wednesday's contest with a 3-1 record and is coming off a 10-6 home victory over Elon, Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile, Robert Morris is 2-0, with early season victories over Kent State and Canisius.

The Lady Flames are off to a 3-1 start for the second straight season. Liberty and Robert Morris met a year ago in the Lady Flames' home opener (Feb. 25, 2018). Liberty won that game 14-9, defeating the Colonials for the first time. Robert Morris owns a 3-1 all-time series edge.

Lady Flames News and Notes

  • Liberty midfielder Brianna McCaffrey was named the ASUN Lacrosse Player of the Week on Tuesday by the conference. McCaffrey is the first ASUN player this season to receive both player of the week and defensive player of the week honors. A week ago, the senior captain earned ASUN Defensive Player of the Week recognition.
  • As a team, Liberty has received 66.7 percent (4-of-6) of the ASUN weekly awards through three weeks. Other recipients include senior goalkeeper Katherine Widrick (ASUN Defensive Player of the Week, Feb. 12) and junior midfielder Carly White (ASUN Player of the Week, Feb. 19).
  • The Lady Flames are currently second in the country in caused turnovers per game (17.00). In 2018, Liberty finished first in the nation in that category (14.28). McCaffrey leads the Lady Flames and ranks eighth in the country in caused turnovers per game (3.25).
  • Liberty ranks seventh in DI in free-positon percentage (.565). Juniors Jenna Joyal and Carly White are both converting 80 percent of their free-position chances, which ranks 20th-best in the country.
  • Liberty goalkeeper Katherine Widrick is 3-1 with a 7.50 goals-against-average (No. 11 in nation), a .531 save percentage (No. 18 in nation) and 34 total saves (No. 30 in nation). The senior spearheads a Lady Flames defensive unit which is 14th in the nation in scoring defense (7.50) and No. 18 in ground balls per game (23.75).
  • Senior attacker Kayla Foster has 191 career points, which ranks 16th among active career leaders at the DI level. She tallied her 188th career point, an assist, against No. 20 Notre Dame on Feb. 17.
  • Liberty is limiting its opposition to a .618 clear percentage (55-of-89) while successfully clearing on 70.7 percent (53-of-75) of its opportunities.
  • The Lady Flames finished 13-5 overall and 6-1 in the Big South a year ago. The Colonials were 9-9 overall and 5-2 in the Northeast Conference (NEC) in 2018.
