The Liberty women's tennis team will play its third consecutive road match traveling to in-state foe VCU on Saturday.

Match time between the Lady Flames (2-3) and Rams (4-2) is set for 11 a.m. at the Thalhimer Tennis Center in Richmond, Va.

Liberty and VCU have met one time prior, with the Rams winning 4-3 in Lynchburg, Feb. 19, 2016. The two teams were scheduled to play in Richmond in 2018, but that match was cancelled due to inclement weather.

The Lady Flames are looking to snap a two-match losing skid. Meanwhile, VCU is currently on a two-match winning streak, with its most recent victory coming against Maryland, last Saturday.

  • Liberty senior captain Lara Soares broke into the singles national rankings as the No. 64 player in the country on Nov. 14 but is not currently ranked. VCU's Paola Delgado, who won the singles main draw title at the ITA Atlantic Regional hosted by Liberty in October, is currently the 56th-ranked player in the country.
  • The Lady Flames are playing 12 straight matches away from home, spanning Feb. 9-March 25. Their next home match will be on March 30 against ASUN foe Lipscomb.
  • Seventh-year head coach Jeff Maren has 92 career victories and a .609 winning percentage at Liberty.
