Shortly after the Flames wrapped up the fall portion of their 2018-19 season, head coach Jeff Thomas visited with LFSN reporter Nick Pierce to recap the start of the season.

Liberty finished the fall ranked No. 31 in the final Golfweek rankings and No. 35 in the last Golfstat team rankings, placing the Flames in good position heading into the spring.

Liberty, who is in its first season in the ASUN Conference, enters the spring as the second best ranked team in the league behind North Florida, who is ranked No. 23 by Golfstat and No. 25 by Golfweek.

The Flames ended the fall with a pair of top-five finishes. Liberty captured the team title at the Intercollegiate at The Grove and finished as the runner-up at the Grandover Collegiate in its final event of the fall.

Following the Christmas break, Liberty will return to the golf course on Feb. 4-5 for the Sea Best Invitational, hosted by ASUN Conference member Jacksonville at the TPC Sawgrass – Valley Course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., to start its spring slate of events.
