Liberty's doubles team of William Barker and Vince Salas lost in the consolation final on Sunday at the Wake Forest Invitational.
The Liberty duo fell by a 6-3 score to Tennessee Tech's Marc Mila and Gonzalo Garcia in the B2 Doubles flight at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex. The Flames' pairing went 1-2 in doubles play on the weekend, with Barker winning one singles match. Barker and Salas did not compete in singles on Sunday.
The Flames' fall season has concluded. Barker captured seven singles matches and two doubles bouts in his first fall with Liberty. Meanwhile, Salas won five singles matches and four doubles matches. He earned singles and doubles titles at the Liberty University Invitational on Sept. 30.
Liberty's first match of the spring 2019 campaign will be on Jan. 18 at Miami, which finished No. 42 in the national rankings last season. The Flames' home opener will take place on Feb. 15 versus George Washington.
