Liberty Concludes Fall Slate at UNLV Rebel Invite

Liberty women's tennis will conclude its fall 2018 campaign at the UNLV Rebel Invite in Las Vegas, Nev., this weekend.

The tournament will take place at the Fertitta Tennis Complex from Friday through Sunday and features four Liberty players.

Event/Days/Location: UNLV Rebel Invite | Friday-Sunday | Fertitta Tennis Complex, Las Vegas, Nev. | 1 p.m. (EST) start each day

Participating Teams: Liberty, UNLV, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Purdue, Iowa, Arizona, Air Force and North Texas

Participating Liberty Players: senior Rebekah Anderson, senior Maria Medina, senior Lara Soares and junior Kalani Soli

Tournament Schedule:
Friday (1 p.m. Eastern start): Doubles quarterfinals, singles quarterfinals
Saturday (1 p.m. Eastern start): Doubles semifinals, singles semifinals
Sunday (1 p.m. Eastern start): Doubles final, singles final

Tournament Format: Six flights of singles and three flights of doubles | Draws will be posted once they are made available.

All four Lady Flames players entered in the event have enjoyed successful fall seasons. Anderson boasts a 5-1 fall singles record and has four doubles wins to her credit as well.

Medina is 8-1 in singles, including an individual title at the Hokie Fall Invite on Sept. 30. Medina also sports a 7-2 record in doubles, with six of those wins coming with her regular partner, Soares.

Meanwhile, Soares is 8-3 overall in doubles play and has 10 singles victories (tied-most on the team) against just three losses. The native of Brazil also captured an individual crown at the Hokie Fall Invite back on Sept. 30.

Soli is 6-2 in singles competition and 6-5 in doubles in her first season with Liberty. The junior, a transfer from Tyler Junior College, won a singles title at the Elon Fall Invitational, Oct. 28.

This year's nine-team field is a loaded one, with four teams that finished in the top-75 in last year's final rankings (No. 9 Texas Tech, No. 30 Texas A&M, No. 56 Purdue and No. 70 UNLV).

The tournament will feature six flights of singles and three flights of doubles. Stay tuned to for updated draws, results and information following the conclusion of each day of competition.
