Liberty is the 16th-ranked team in the country in the final national poll.

The Liberty field hockey team is slotted at No. 16 in the country in the final Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) DI National Coaches Poll, released on Tuesday morning.
The Lady Flames were listed among the top-25 teams in the country in all 11 national polls, this season. This marks the second time this year Liberty has been listed as the 16th-ranked team in the nation (other: Sept. 4).
Liberty finished the 2018 season with a 13-6 record and 6-1 mark in the BIG EAST. This past weekend, the Lady Flames finished as the runner-up at the BIG EAST Field Hockey Championship for a third straight season. The championship was hosted at the Liberty Field Hockey Field for the first time ever.
Last Friday, the No. 2 seed Lady Flames defeated No. 3 seed Providence 4-0 in the semifinals of the tournament to advance to the title game against No. 1 seed UConn. The top-seeded Huskies, ranked fourth in the country, edged Liberty 5-3 in the championship game on Sunday.

Liberty fell just short of receiving an at-large berth to the 2018 NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship, which begins on Wednesday and runs through Nov. 18.
