Almborg won three total matches (two singles, one doubles) on Saturday at the Furman Duals.
Liberty women's tennis won five total matches on the second and final day of the Furman Duals, Saturday at the Mickel Tennis Center.
Four of those five victories came in singles, highlighted by a pair of singles wins from Lady Flames freshman Alexandra Almborg. Almborg took both of her matches by identical 6-1, 6-2 scores.
The first victory came over Wingate's Sydney Homan in the morning, followed by a win in straight sets against Ella Rowley of Presbyterian in the afternoon. Almborg now has four total singles triumphs in the fall.
Almborg and sophomore Nasha Ghajar finished off a 3-1 weekend in doubles by defeating USC Upstate's Elin Hellberg and Maria Jardim by a 6-2 score. The pairing is now 5-2 as a unit, this fall.
Ghajar nabbed one singles victory on Saturday, a 6-0, 6-2 result over Marisa Marks of Wingate.
Lady Flames senior Anna Dollar was the other Liberty player to emerge victorious in singles. She topped UNCW's Rishiki Ravindran 6-1, 6-3.
Over the course of the two-day tournament, Liberty collected eight total victories (four doubles, four singles).
Liberty's last fall tournament will be the UNLV Rebel Invite in Las Vegas, Nev., next Friday through Sunday.
