Fortenbaugh is on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the third time in her career.
Mallory Fortenbaugh of the Lady Flames field hockey team garnered a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday for the second time this season.
Fortenbaugh, a junior defender for Liberty, has now earned BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on three occasions during her career. She received the recognition two weeks ago (Oct. 8) and also on Sept. 18, 2017.
The Millersville, Pa., native recorded her 10th assist of the season in a 2-1 victory against No. 11 Boston College, Sunday. She is currently tied for 12th in the country in assists per game (0.63).
The junior was also a member of the Lady Flames' defensive unit that held Boston College to one goal, with the Eagles averaging 2.80 goals per game coming into the contest. Liberty also held Boston College without a goal on 11 penalty corner chances.
In 16 games this year, all starts, Fortenbaugh is tied for first on the squad with 10 assists, third in points (16), tied for fourth in goals (3) and tied for fourth in game-winning goals (1).
Fortenbaugh and the Lady Flames (11-5, 5-1 BIG EAST) will close out regular-season play at Providence (11-6, 4-2 BIG EAST). The winner of the contest will earn the No. 2 seed for the upcoming BIG EAST Championship (Nov. 2, 4), hosted by Liberty.
