The Liberty women's tennis team will be sending a total of six players to compete at two different tournaments, beginning on Friday.

Liberty will have four players head to Virginia Tech for the Hokie Fall Invite, Friday through Sunday at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center in Blacksburg, Va. Competition will tentatively begin at 9 a.m. on each day.

Meanwhile, senior Rebekah Anderson and Kalani Soli have been invited to compete as a doubles team in the 2018 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships, featuring the nation's top Division I women's players. Anderson and Soli will play their first match on Saturday at Pepperdine's Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center in Malibu, Calif.

The Lady Flames' four players competing at the event are all seniors: Ashley Bongart, Anna Dollar, Maria Medina and Lara Soares. The invite features 13 teams: Liberty, Appalachian State, Bluefield State, Delaware, Georgia Southern, Iowa State, James Madison, Marshall, Penn State, Radford, VCU, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.

Among the group of seniors competing, Medina sports the best record of the group this fall with a 6-0 combined mark (3-0 singles, 3-0 doubles). Soares is 5-1 (3-0 doubles, 2-1 singles), while Bongart is 4-2 overall (2-1 singles, 2-1 doubles). Dollar won two of the three matches she competed in, last weekend at the season-opening Liberty Invite.

Anderson and Soli are the second pairing in program history to represent Liberty at the prestigious event. Current senior Anna Dollar and former Lady Flame Evangeline Crist played at the tournament in 2016. Anderson and Soli are 1-1 as a unit, so far this fall.

Anderson and Soli will be entered in the doubles pre-qualifying draw and play their first match on Saturday against a to-be-determined opponent. If the tandem advances out of pre-qualifying, it will play in the main draw starting on Tuesday. Main draw matches will start a week from today (Oct. 4) and run through Oct. 7.
