• The Flames will be making their fourth appearance at this event, having previously played in UAB's tournament in 2013, 2014 and 2017.
• The Flames finished in sixth place out of 12 teams in 2013, having carded a 2-over par 866 (284-284-298). Liberty was paced by Chase Marinell, a member of the PGA's Mackenzie Tour, who finished tied for ninth place with a 2-under par 214 (71-67-76).

• Last year, the Flames carded one of the top four final rounds during their third time around the Shoal Creek Country. Liberty posted a 1-over par 289, allowing the Flames to leapfrog two other teams to finish in second with an overall 2-under par 862 (282-291-289).
• The Flames were led by Ervin Chang, who finished inside the top 10 for the first time in his Liberty career. He posted a 2-under par 214 (71-71-72) to finish tied for ninth place, offsetting two bogeys with a pair of birdies during the final round.

• Liberty finishing in sixth place at the 2018 Rod Myers Invitational on Sept. 8-9, its first of four tournament events scheduled this fall.
• The Flames wrapped up play as their season-opening event with a 7-over par 871 (289-290-292) on the Duke University Golf Course.
• Liberty entered the final round of the Duke-hosted event in fifth place, but a strong final day of play allowed Cincinnati to leapfrog the Flames on the score and crack the top five in the 13-team event.

Birdies and Bogeys – Liberty Team Notes
• After winning five of the last eight Big South titles (2011, 2012, 2014, 216 and 2018), the Flames will be looking for a different avenue to the NCAA Regionals during their first season of competition in the ASUN Conference.
• During the offseason, Liberty's 17 of its 20 NCAA Division I athletics programs moved their conference affiliation from the Big South Conference to the ASUN Conference. Liberty was a member of the Big South Conference for 27 years, starting its membership during the 1991-92 athletic year.
• The men's golf team is looking to replace two of the most successful players in program history who graduated last year. Mickey DeMorat finished his career with the second-best scoring average in program history (72.28) and posted 13 career top-10 finishes. Isaiah Logue ranked just behind him in third place in school history in career stroke average (72.52), while posting 18 career top-10 finishes.
• The Rod Myers Invitational marked the return of 2017 Big South Freshman of the Year Kieran Vincent to Liberty's lineup. The redshirt sophomore was sidelined with an injury during the 2017-18 year after posting a 72.15 stroke average as a freshman two years ago. He finished the event tied for 34th place with a 6-over par 222 (73-78-71).
