The Lady Flames are the 20th-ranked team in the nation.
NFHCA Release/Poll
The Liberty field hockey squad is now slotted at No. 20 in the nation. The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) unveiled its Penn Monto/NFHCA DI National Coaches Poll on Tuesday.
Liberty has been slotted inside the top 25 of the national poll in each of the first three polls of the season. Last week, the Lady Flames checked in at No. 16. They did not play a game last week and fell four spots to the No. 20 position.
The Lady Flames are one of three ranked BIG EAST teams, along with No. 2 UConn (6-0) and No. 15 Old Dominion (6-0). Liberty is in the top 10 in the country in five statistical categories: goals per game (No. 1, 4.50), scoring average (No. 1, 4.47), scoring margin (No. 3, 2.98), points per game (No. 4, 12.00) and assists per game (No. 8, 3.00).
Liberty (3-1) is in action today against the Longwood Lancers at the Liberty Field Hockey Field.
