Nicaise Muamba of the Liberty Flames men's tennis squad saw his run at the ITF Canada F6 Futures tournament come to an end on Sunday afternoon at the Club at White Oaks.
Muamba, a sophomore in his first year with Liberty men's tennis team, fell in straight sets to Alexander Knight of the United States. The native of Laval, Quebec, Canada dropped the first set in a tiebreaker (7-6 (4)) before losing in straight sets to Knight, 7-6 (4), 6-0.
Muamba finishes the tournament with a 1-1 mark. He will be back in action at the ITF Canada F7 Futures in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, starting on Sept. 10. Muamba's teammates will be in action for the first time this fall at the Silverado Invitational, hosted by Oklahoma State, beginning on Friday at the Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, Calif.
