Liberty Volleyball Head Coach Trevor Johnson has announced that Amelia Johnson will join the Liberty volleyball team, transferring from North Dakota.
"We are excited for Amelia Johnson to be joining our volleyball family here at Liberty University!" Trevor Johnson exclaimed. "Amelia will be a great fit not only on the court, but off the court as well. Her desire to love, serve, and care for other people is what attracted me most about her. Amelia has a bright future and we can't wait to see what the Lord has planned for her!"
Hailing from Roseau, Minn., Johnson spent two years with the North Dakota Fighting Hawks. She redshirted as a freshman, and will have three seasons of eligibility remaining. While at North Dakota, she was part of a program that won back-to-back Big Sky Tournament championships, with the Fighting Hawks appearing in the NCAA Tournament in 2016 and 2017.
Prior to her time at North Dakota, she excelled as a four-year starter at outside hitter for Roseau High School. As a senior, she was named to the Minnesota Class AA all-state teams, while she earned honorable mention all-state during her junior campaign. A four-time all-conference member, she recorded a team-high 430 kills as a senior, to go along with 38 blocks, 307 digs and 32 service aces. Her senior campaign saw her earn Conference MVP honors. Johnson was an Academic all-state selection and Presidential Academic honoree as a senior
