Fifth-year Liberty Softball Head Coach Dot Richardson has announced the addition of local product Braelyn Cooper to the Lady Flames' softball program for the 2018-19 academic year. Cooper, who pitches for Amherst County High School in nearby Amherst, Va., has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Lady Flames' roster starting in the fall of 2018.
Cooper joins a freshman class that will also feature Kara Canetto and Denay Griffin, both of whom signed during the early signing period in November.
"We are blessed to have an elite 2018 recruiting class which is a selective group that will have an impact on our program," Richardson said. "These young ladies have a passion to share their gifts the Lord has given them through the sport of softball at the highest level of collegiate competition. We are excited about what God is doing here at Liberty and through all our athletic programs. LU Softball is on the rise and we welcome all to come and experience what the Lady Flames are doing on the diamond."
