Before the Flames started their fourth full week of spring football practice, Liberty Special Teams Coordinator and Tight Ends/Fullbacks Coach Scott Downing talked with the media about the team's workouts.
During the media session, Downing talked about the continued development of Liberty's special teams' return units and what improvements two-time all-conference kicker Alex Probert is making during the offseason. Downing also spoke about replacing four-time all-conference punter Trey Turner and All-America long snapper Hunter Winstead.
This week will serve as Liberty's last full week of spring practice (practices No. 11 to No. 13), including their third scrimmage on Saturday. As previously announced, the Flames will not hold an annual spring football game due to the expansion construction taking place at Williams Stadium.
During its spring practice workouts, the Flames practice on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (5:45 to 7:45 p.m.) and Saturday mornings/afternoons. All of Liberty's spring practice workouts are closed to the general public and media.
