Liberty pitcher Brady Stamper has been selected the Big South Freshman of the Week for games played, Feb. 19-25.
The Flames right-hander turned in a solid performance in his collegiate debut. The Middletown, Del., native pitched five scoreless innings and picked up the victory in Liberty's 4-1 win over James Madison, this past Tuesday at Liberty Baseball Stadium.
In recording the first win of his collegiate career, Stamper allowed two hits. He struck out eight and walked two.
It is the second straight week, a Liberty pitcher has been selected Big South Freshman of the Week for baseball. Right-hander Noah Skirrow was the first of the season, picking up the honor for Feb. 16-18.
The two freshman right-handers and Liberty take to the road for the first time in 2018 on Wednesday. The Flames will travel to Elon, N.C., for a contest with the Elon Phoenix. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
