Liberty Athletics Top Moments of 2017 concludes today by looking at Moment No. 1, the NCAA approving Liberty's waiver to begin the Football Bowl Subdivision reclassification process.
Liberty University received notification on Feb. 16, 2017 that the NCAA has approved its request to enter into the Football Bowl Subdivision reclassification process.
Liberty University submitted the waiver with the NCAA in January, requesting relief to enter into the two-year FBS reclassification process without an invitation to join a FBS conference.
The 2017 calendar year was another banner year in Liberty Athletics. Liberty won its 13th Big South Sasser Cup title and swept the Big South Sasser Cup, Men's All-Sport and Women's All-Sport trophy awards for the fourth time in athletics department history.
