McMillian Completes Liberty WBB Signing Class

Completing the Lady Flames' trio of November signees, Liberty Women's Basketball Head Coach Carey Green announced that Mya McMillian, a 6-3 post player from Texas, has signed a national letter of intent to attend Liberty University for the 2018-19 academic year.

McMillian joins Lizzie Moore and Amy West in this year's signing class, all of whom stand 6-2 or taller.

"We are always excited to have new additions to our Liberty Flames family," summarized Green about the three signees. "Each player brings a uniqueness of individual talent and skills that will address areas that are necessary for the success of a championship team. Their development will have a direct impact early in our team dynamics and strategy."

Mya McMillian (F/C, 6-3, Marble Falls, Texas)
McMillian averaged 15.1 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 1.3 bpg and 1.3 spg while shooting 60 percent from the field during her junior season at Marble Falls High School, where she ranks in the top 10 of her senior class.

McMillian earned numerous honors as a junior, after helping her team go 26-11 and reach the Texas Class 5A regional semifinals. She was named District 26-5A co-MVP, Centex Newcomer of the Year and picked up all-state accolades from both the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) and the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA).

"I knew Liberty was where I wanted to go as soon as I set foot on their campus," McMillian explained. "I love the school, the coaches and my future teammates! I'm so excited to be a Liberty Lady Flame!"

During the offseason, McMillian plays basketball for AD Elite and plays middle blocker for the Marble Falls volleyball team.

What They're Saying about Mya McMillian
"Mya is a very athletic southpaw with a strong power game inside. She should excel in the college game as she develops additional skills. Her ability to rebound and finish inside will have an immediate impact on our team. Mya has a high IQ, displays a good work ethic and also is a great communicator, which gives potential for great leadership. She has almost limitless opportunities to excel. We are excited to see the heights to which God will lead Mya."
