Moroni (#17) and Bolton (#25) received BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week honors, Monday.

Liberty sophomore Agueda Moroni has been named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, while freshman Jill Bolton has been named the conference's Freshman of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Moroni garners selection as the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. The midfielder/forward closed the regular season on a strong note, recording four goals, two assists and 10 points in a pair of games, last week.

The Corboba, Argentina, native scored twice and assisted on a goal in Liberty's 6-2 win at Temple on Friday evening. Moroni's first goal, a reverse shot in the sixth minute, staked the Lady Flames to an early 1-0 edge. The sophomore scored on a penalty stroke in the 28th minute to push the Liberty lead to 3-1 over the Owls and assisted on Summer Parker's short corner goal at 53:00, giving the Lady Flames a four-goal advantage at 5-1.

In Sunday's regular-season finale against No. 6 North Carolina, Moroni put the Lady Flames on the board with a penalty stroke goal in the 32nd minute. The sophomore also assisted on Ashley Dykema's first tally of the season in the 48th minute on a penalty corner.

Through 17 games of her second season as a Lady Flame, Moroni paces Liberty in goals (18), assists (7), points (43) and shots on goal (42). She is one goal shy of tying the program record for goals in a single season, currently held by Natalie Barr (19, 2013) and Sarah Gipe (19, 2014). Moroni notched nine goals in seven BIG EAST games, this fall.

Bolton is the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for a second consecutive week. The midfielder recorded three goals in last weekend's matches against Temple and No. 6 UNC.

In the game against Temple, Bolton's first goal at the 14:35 mark proved to be the game-winner, her second of the season. The freshman's second marker of the evening extended the Liberty lead to 4-1 in the 40th minute.

Bolton scored a goal against UNC on Sunday in the 63rd minute, a forehanded shot into the left corner of the cage, for her ninth goal of 2017. The Souderton, Pa., native closed the regular season on a hot streak with five goals and an assist in her last four contests. She is second on the team in goals (9), tied for second in assists (5) and second in points (23) through 17 games of her rookie campaign.

Moroni, Bolton and the Lady Flames (7-10, 5-2 BIG EAST) will head to Rhode Island for the 2017 BIG EAST Field Hockey Championship, later this week. No. 2 seed Liberty will face No. 3 seed Old Dominion (8-9, 5-2 BIG EAST) in a semifinal matchup on Friday at 4 p.m. at Lennon Family Field on the campus of Providence.

The winner of the semifinal will face the winner of No. 1 seed UConn (17-0, 7-0 BIG EAST) and No. 4 seed Providence (11-7, 4-3 BIG EAST), who will square off on Friday at 1 p.m., on Sunday in the BIG EAST Championship title game at 1 p.m.
